Oracle Analytic Cloud (OAC) je integrirana platforma za poslovno analitiko, ki vključuje ključna 3 orodja poslovne analitike: Oracle Business Intelligence Cloud Service, Oracle Data Visualisation Cloud Service in Essbase Cloud Service.

OAC je oblačna storitev, ki vključuje vse ključne funkcionalnosti orodij, ki se jih sicer lahko uporablja v "on-premise" različici, pri čemer pa je ključna lastnost, da je mogoče celotno rešitev iz "on-premise" okolja preseliti v oblak, kjer deluje praktično brez sprememb, če odmislimo ponastavitve povezav do baz podatkov. Je pa v vseh orodjih v oblaku opazen bistven premik k poenostavljenju določenih funkcij orodij tako, da so le ta postala enostavnejša in bolj prijazna za uporabo. Na ta način lahko že malo bolj napredni uporabniki izdelajo zahtevnejše rešitve, kar v "zemeljski različici" orodij ni mogoče.

Trying to find an answer to a question which data is used by which application, can be a real challenge for number of companies, due to the proliferation of different IT technologies, tools, applications and systems that companies have in place. So, tracking the data to its source, i.e. performing impact analysis is many times very difficult exercise even for a trained IT personnel, and mission impossible for business users.

Oracle Enterprise Metadata Management (OEMM) is here to help. OEMM is a comprehensive metadata management platform, which can "harvest", i.e. reverse engineer and catalog metadata from virtually any metadata provider, including relational, Hadoop, ETL, BI, data modeling, and number of others.

The journey of a BI database stack to the cloud



BI is and can be a complex matter in big organisations. This presentation will tell the story about a strategic business decision to move the on premise BI stack to the Microsoft Azure cloud. The main focus is on how the Oracle Database is moved as the application servers were moved using a lift and ship mechanism.

This presentation will cover: - how we managed to move +300TB divided over several multi Tb databases to the cloud, - which services were chosen to run the database servers and why, - how performance testing and sizing has been done - how automatic provisioning has been done for providing developers what they need in agreed SLA's, - how we dealed with the short deadline, - why the Azure Cloud was chosen over the Oracle cloud, - Cost savings?

The deadline of the project was end of the year 2016. This gives the opportunity to give you an insight in a very fresh project of the move to the cloud for a complete BI environment.
